Presidential Debates 2020: “The Kindergarten President”
Back in 2016, I wrote a post about the presidential debates in 2016 between Donald Trump and Hillary Clinton, comparing their linguistic styles in the debates. Now in 2020, it’s time to revisit the analysis and see what has changed. Statistics To better assess how much they have said, I divided the debate in speech[…]
My first cat video
If you google ‘cat video’, you’ll see there are more than a million hits. Searching for ‘dog videos’ returns less than half a million hits. Of those many cat videos, there are videos about cats cuddling with each other, cats playing with water, and even cats doing nothing else than meowing. Cats are definitely cute,[…]
Symbioticon: Sparkassen Hackathon
If you always put limits on everything you do, physical or anything else. It will spread into your work and into your life. There are no limits. There are only plateaus, and you must not stay there, you must go beyond them. (Bruce Lee) Recently, I participated in a hackathon. For those who have never[…]
Privalino, let’s go!
November has come and two major things have happened: I moved to a new apartment for the next few weeks and we officially started the project Privalino. Thanks to a friend who is on holiday for a couple of weeks, I have the opportunity to temporarily live in the Hundertwasserhaus in Darmstadt. However, this is[…]
Presidential debates: “It’s the candidates, stupid”
The presidential debates were supposed to give the audience an understanding of the most controversial issues and how both candidates plan to deal with them if they become president. When Bill Clinton ran for presidency, he coined the phrase “It’s the economy, stupid.” This was back in 1992. 24 years later, the format of presidential[…]
Fast or accurate? A comparative evaluation of football APIs
Football isn’t the most important topic in life, but it is a close call! Just imagine you’re stuck somewhere and cannot watch the match of your favourite team. You will end up constantly updating the match statistics with the following disappointment that nothing has changed. Luckily, there are a couple of powerful APIs with football[…]
What’s the difference between a train and a bus?
Last week, I took a bus to get from Munich to Darmstadt. I decided to not take a train despite being a huge fan of the Deutsche Bahn. In the past, there was no question whether to take the train. I just took the train to travel from one city to another. I wouldn’t have[…]
Liverpool, I’m gettin off
It’s been a great time in Liverpool. I’m very grateful to have had the chance to meet so many fascinating people, get inspired and work on great projects. Now, while being at the airport waiting for the flight back to Germany, it’s time to reflect on what I’m going to miss and what I’m looking[…]
Bicycle trip to Scotland
My stay in Liverpool is slowly coming to an end and it was time to make use of the great weather last weekend. I decided to have a quick trip to Scotland with my bicycle. After three days and roughly 350km of cycling, I felt happy and totally exhausted. The following video shows what Google[…]
Privalino at Awesome Liverpool
In July, I pitched for Privalino to win the prize of the Liverpool chapter of the Awesome Foundation. Every month this chapter awards awesome ideas with a check of £500 – no strings attached. The idea of the foundation is to support local and social projects. Who wouldn’t love this idea? Despite Privalino working on a global[…]
The vision guiding my work is to apply information technology to make life a bit easier for everyone.
In the course of my studies in physics I was fascinated about learning to understand what holds the world together. Deductive reasoning and optimizing processes have since then become useful tools in my everyday life and business. I had the opportunity to apply this experience to several projects. During further studies I gained experience in knowledge management and language technologies. I believe in a great potential in these fields and thus decided to develop my ideas by pursuing a PhD in computer science with a focus on natural language processing and machine learning. Curiosity and passion are fundamental characteristics of me, both in my daily job and in sports.
Natural language processing
Bridging the gap between computer and humans.
Not only do I want to learn many languages, but I also want to make it easier for others.
I have a strong background in software engineering with a focus on Java and Android.
Machine learning is for me one of the most influential tools for many tasks.
The goal of Privalino is to protect children’s communication on the Internet. Children can easily become the victims of criminals who claim to be children themselves. With Privalino, we analyze their communication and warn children and their parents if they are contacted by a potential criminal.

Android App Development
Recently, I started developing mobile apps for Android-based smartphones. The foundation of these apps is to connect people by letting them share their opinions. Others can amplify these opinions and learn more about themselves. In the latest app, users share incredible experience and collect points if others agree.
